The same questions keep showing up in my direct messages.
How do I stay connected when we keep fighting? How do I know if this relationship is worth the work? How do I balance what I want with what others need from me?
People send me these questions privately, and I’ve noticed many of them repeat. Different people, different situations – but the same struggles underneath.
I’ve been thinking about these questions for 25 years – as a researcher, as a facilitator, as someone who’s lived across four countries and spent my career navigating cultural and relational conflicts. I don’t have all the answers. But I’ve learned some things that can be helpful to others.
So I’m starting “Ask Anna.”
Twice a month, I’ll choose a question from my messages that many of us are wrestling with. I’ll share what I’ve observed in my work, what research tells us, and what we might explore together. We’ll think through these questions as a community.
You can ask your question:
In the comments here
Or send me a direct message
If you want your question to stay anonymous, just tell me. I’ll keep it confidential.
What troubles you probably troubles thousands of others. Your question might be exactly what someone else needs to hear – that moment when you realize you’re not alone in this.
If these conversations help you, share them. Each like, comment, and share helps someone else find what they’re searching for.
We all want more thoughtful, aware people in the world – people who know how to listen, feel, and choose with understanding.
Send me your questions. Let’s figure this out together.
